About Greta

Born in London in 1977 to African-Caribbean immigrants from Nevis and Jamaica, Greta Solomon (BSc. Psych. Hons) is an author, journalist, writing trainer (PTTLLS trained), and writing coach (ICF associate certified). She is the author of Just Write It! How to Develop Top-Class University Writing Skills (McGraw-Hill, 2013) and Heart, Sass & Soul: Journal Your Way to Inspiration and Happiness (Mango, 2019).

Greta has clocked up thousands of coaching and tutoring hours with her clients. In total, she has over 15 years of experience in training individuals and multi-million pound companies in writing skills. She is particularly skilled in working with international teams of highly skilled experts, where English is often a second language. She has delivered workshops and talks in Norway, Holland, Ethiopia, and across the UK. She was also a visiting business writing lecturer at University of London, City

Greta began her career as a women’s magazine journalist. Between 2000 and 2002, she held the positions of Deputy Editor at Executive Woman and Features Writer at Woman, before going freelance. As a freelance journalist she contributed health, travel, celebrity and lifestyle features to publications including Daily Express, My Weekly, Daily Star (Star Mag), Sunday Mirror (M Celebs), Now!, More!, The Stage, Right Start, and Company.

From 2006-2008, Greta also set up a thriving English and writing tutoring business, working with students of all ages, from 8-80. She gained a reputation for quickly taking students from a C grade to an A, and soon had a long waiting list for her services.

From 2009, she worked at industrial business-to-business PR consultancy, SE10, as a journalist and PR. She rose to account director level in 2010, before moving to Norway for six years, in 2011. There she began teaching business writing, and continues to work with clients in industries including maritime, technology, travel, media, and energy.

Greta also currently works as a mental health and emotional wellbeing journalist, with recent bylines in Red, Breathe, Psychologies, The Author, Mslexia, Writing Magazine, and Forbes. She is a published poet and songwriter, and holds a lyric writing diploma from Berklee College of Music.

Greta lives in the south coast of England, and works internationally.
