PLAY ME! This introduction gives you a peek into the course…

What’s your writing dream?

Shame makes you feel as though you’re not good enough – despite your many gifts and talents. It makes you hide, judge, or criticise the things you create; making it difficult to start, finish, celebrate, or promote yourself and your work.

This seven-module transformational course will give you a powerful shame busting toolkit, so that you can put your goals into action.

Through understanding the mechanics of shame, your beliefs, and the ways you’ve been questioned and invalidated, you’ll begin to break free from old patterns.

Using slideshow videos and journal healing exercises, I guide you to find the courage you need to shine.

You’ll get transcripts of all the videos so that you can fully digest each lesson, and audio versions to download and listen on-the-go. Plus, there’s a 71-page workbook full of inspiring content.

The entire course will be available to you on 13 November, so that you can go at your own pace. The first module is the longest and is likely to take 2 to 3 hours to fully complete.

After that, expect to allow 1.5 to 2 hours to watch the video for each module, and complete the worksheets and journal prompts.

You’ll receive weekly emails from me, to gently guide you to navigate the content.

The course includes seven weeks of email support, where you can ask questions, share insights, and talk through anything related to your self-expression and your creative dreams, goals, and plans.

This unique course is designed for you to keep forever as a personal support, as you navigate the difficult territory of putting your work into the world.

So, what will you learn and un-learn?

Module 1: Exploration

An in-depth look at how we hold, hurl and heal shame

  • Exploring exactly what shame is, and how it manifests in life, work, and creativity.

  • How and why shame manifests as imposter syndrome.

  • The differences between toxic shame and healthy shame.

  • What journal healing is, and is not, and why it’s a key to long-lasting change.

Module 2: Belief

Healing shaming internal beliefs such as, “I am not enough”

  • Unpacking and understanding the “I am not enough” wound.

  • Understanding and healing the nervous system responses that support this belief.

  • Why no amount of meditating, sitting still, journaling, or slowing down is too small.

  • Exploring a new win-win paradigm where ‘enough’ doesn’t even factor.

  • Creating affirmations related to your creative dreams and projects.

Module 3: Assertion

Healing from shaming assertions such as, “You can’t do that”

  • Why receiving shaming assertions is a sign that you’re waking-up.

  • How to rewrite and rewire fear-driven shaming messages.

  • Finding your emotional hotspots and breathing, feeling, and journaling through them.

  • Filling the vacancy that’s left when you no longer accept shaming

Module 4: Questions

Healing from shaming spoken (or unspoken) questions such as, “Who do you think you are?”

  • Exploring your thoughts and feelings around creativity and creative people

  • Where do you tell yourself that creative success is not for you?

  • Why your self-doubt has little to do with your skills, interests, talents, or abilities.

  • Learning to create a Teflon energetic coat and exploring new boundaries.

Module 5: Lack

Healing shaming absence such as, silence, lack of validation and un-acknowledgement

  • Why it’s essential to fully acknowledging the damage caused by invalidation.

  • Accurately naming your past experiences for what they truly were.

  • The art of self-acknowledgement and self-validation.

  • How to fill your inner well, take back your power, and cultivate creative courage.

Module 6: Creativity

Finding creative strength, and dealing with snide comments and unsolicited feedback

  • Why self-belief frightens off the ‘smug and snide’ brigade.

  • Implementing practical, personal growth strategies.

  • Scripts and sayings to practice, so that in the moment you have canned responses.

  • The role of meditation in rewiring your nervous system and cultivating creative strength.

Module 7: Integration

Intentions, integration, mapping the way forward and celebrating your progress

  • The importance of surrounding yourself with supportive people.

  • Ensuring that you don’t hide from yourself, and fully own your truth.

  • How to take up more space – internally and externally.

  • Inspiration for re-planting strong creative roots to ensure you continue to grow.

  • Giving yourself a heartfelt thank you for being open and willing to heal.

As a journalist and author, specialising in mental health and emotional wellbeing, and an intuitive coach; my work is about creating safe spaces where people can write, create, feel, and heal.

No matter what has happened, or is happening now, you can still listen (and act on) the whispers of your soul. You can still sing your song. Shame – with all its masks, manifestations, and disguises – doesn’t have to hold you back.

By watching the videos and completing the journaling-based exercises, you’ll feel inspired with a renewed sense of clarity and possibility. The overall aim is that you will emerge lighter and brighter – able to tackle your creative projects head-on and equipped with a practical toolkit for when the shame gremlins start bleating.

This course is for all writers at any professional level because it’s about helping you find the things that will work for YOU. It’s for you if you want to shake off the shackles of shame and show who you really are.

I aim to be the lighthouse for you on this journey inward. I hope you’ll join me.

What people say…

This material is so powerful, and just being in Greta’s presence is healing.
— Claire
Thank you for having the courage to bring up shame, which as a 62-year old woman I have lived with for decades.
— Diane

“Shame has blocked my writing since I was a junior reporter in Fleet Street in the mid-eighties! A bullying senior editor bullied me and humiliated me in front of the entire newsroom and I gave up writing and took up a safe secretarial job. I realise now that I was the object of her narcissistic behaviours. I found the metaphor exercise extremely powerful and helpful in processing this.”

I just bought your Heal The Shame That Sabotages Self-Expression course. And let me just say: I’m absolutely blown away by it.
— Laura

“Becoming an author has been my life's calling since day one, that one thing that is more important than anything else. I decided to take the plunge and I finished my manuscript in the summer of 2019, and I was so excited. I felt so proud and happy about what I had achieved.

I had no idea that everything would come crashing down as soon as I showed my work to others. I've never encountered so much meanness and downright cruelty as I did back then. Everyone from strangers to so-called friends picked my stories apart. Even worse than that, however, was the silence. Some people refused to say anything at all, even if I reached out to them for feedback. A lot of relationships ended that year. It was so tough.

After a year and a half of turmoil, I felt like the book had destroyed my life. That nothing good came out of me trying to follow my heart's calling. With all my relationships in shambles, no book deal in sight, no steady job (I became a freelancer so that I could focus on my stories), I was devastated.

It was only this spring I started to get back on my feet, little by little. I started re-editing my manuscript and visualizing my goals again. I started feeling better and better. I felt like this book could happen after all.

And this is where you come in.

I put the first audio track on. Five minutes later, tears were already falling down my cheeks. I felt like you were literally in the room with me; your words felt so validating.

Today I finished all the videos. I just needed to hear everything, to wrap my head around the words. And there were so many wonderful things you said. All of them resonated. Everything made sense. It was like you were narrating my personal experience.

And then you mentioned the bit about the hummingbird and that you had chosen it as your spirit animal. And I was like: “me too”.

I was horrifically abused by my narcissistic family, and I have done a ton of healing work in this area. Although I've been on my healing journey for almost a decade now, it wasn't until six years ago I actually started to heal. I then decided I needed a power animal and a tattoo to match. I came across the hummingbird and immediately knew that was it.

For a long time, I've wanted to find my own charm of hummingbirds, a group of like-minded creative souls. A group of people that support each other and help each other soar. Today I realized it is possible; I'm not alone. And that there's a roadmap to figuring it all out, to success even. And this is it.

I want to thank you, Greta, from the bottom of my heart for creating this course. You've already made a huge difference in my life. I will continue to listen to your videos tomorrow and next week or whenever I feel lost or need a little guidance.

Update: I got a book deal two weeks after finishing your absolutely life-changing Heal the Shame that Sabotages Self-Expression course”
